JOB DESCRIPTION

The Golf Professional –Junior development and programs co-ordinator (JDP) will be a full-time golf professional that will participate in the development of the junior academy and school programs. The JDP will help to develop and implement training curriculums for the junior, school and full-time student performance programs and also maintain a full teaching schedule outside of these administrative/development responsibilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Help to create and implement instructional curriculum for junior golf programs, competition and training camps
• Help to create and manage events for junior and school development program
• 30 hours per week of Junior/Schools coaching
• Lead the Leadbetter Kids program, younger age groups and camps
• Oversee the younger age groups junior coaching within the academy and standards are maintained
• Monitor and track student progress through quarterly reviews
• Liaise with school partners (both local and international) to align the goals of the school curriculum with the offerings of the academy golf programs
• Prepare an annual plan for all junior development within the academy
• Liaise with the marketing team and Head of Junior Development for all material supporting growing the junior section
• Attend junior coaching seminars worldwide and liaise with other LGA locations on best practices
• Prepare and respond to correspondence such as emails, evaluations and other communications as it pertains to this role.
• Deliver golf instruction and professionalism in accordance with the Leadbetter academy instruction techniques and philosophies
• Maintain up to date teaching equipment and teaching aids as well as the knowledge and training on how to maximize their use
• Maintain a full instructional schedule outside of administrative and organizational tasks
• Be punctual for all scheduled golf lessons/appointments and treat all customers with the utmost respect and professionalism.
• Assist to maintain organization and cleanliness of the Academy and practice facilities.
• Maintain knowledge base on all academy programs, principles, technology and instructional aides
• Work in a constructive manner with the instructional team to deliver consistent and seamless service/instruction to academy students and customers
• Develop and grow client base for private and group golf instruction by actively promoting the brand locally
• Assist to create and manage golfer engagement initiatives that increase their exposure to playing golf and competitions – both for juniors and adult golfers
• Develop, organize and drive revenue generation from all instructional sources which include but are not limited to: private lessons, group lessons, junior lessons and clinics, corporate lessons and clinics, long-term stay, hotel stay & learn programs, school ECA programs
• Contribute to the Laguna Lifestyle Magazine with articles
• Seek out and implement industry best practices for curriculum and golfer mental development
• Operate and make decisions with the best interest of the Academy and Club in mind at all times.
• Take on any additional tasks as required by the Academy Director or Director of Golf from time to time.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Class “A” status in a major international Professional Golfers’ Association
• Foundation Degree from the PGA or related PGM program inclusive of an apprenticeship program
• Minimum of 2 years teaching junior/school golf in an International environment
• Enrolled in the LGA kids program
• Enrolled in the Leadbetter Certification program or already fully-certified
• Certification and knowledge of industry leading technology/methods such as:
- Launch monitors
- Body movement/motion analysis
- Biomechanics
- Force plate technology such as Smart2Move, SAM or similar
- Extensive video analysis
• Strong understanding of biomechanics as applied to golf
• Demonstration of cultural understanding and sensitivity
• Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)
• Proven experience developing and implementing Junior golf instructional programs
• Worked with National level students

Remuneration

• Base salary of $5,000 - $7,000SGD monthly depending on experience
