Job Description

Parsons Xtreme Golf (PXG) was founded by American entrepreneur and philanthropist Bob Parsons with the sole intent to design and develop the world’s finest golf clubs – and we believe we have done just that! We pour every ounce of innovation into each club design, from drivers to putters, and to our coveted golf apparel collections that combine performance, luxury, and style. We are actively building our operations into the Japanese market, and this position will be part of the leadership team tasked with developing strategic business planning.

Position Overview:

This position will work closely with the General Manager, overseeing the local Japan team, and will be responsible for all operational and sales aspects, along with other strategic leadership duties as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Works closely with GM and other senior leaders in the creation, development, and execution of PXG Japan vision and strategic business planning (i.e., PXG Japan 3-5-year Sales and Operations Plan)
• Supports GM and assists in setting the overall Commercial business plan, determines optimal distributor channel, and leads the team in managing Distributor development and building retail and E-commerce business
• Oversees the setup and development of key sales channels and the corresponding operational setup to support the direct sales process
• Creates partnerships across the senior leadership team to develop unified commerce strategies and processes to drive seamless customer experience and maximize productivity
• Works closely with GM on overall top-line growth, margin, operating income, inventory turn and Distributor specific KPIs
• Works cross-functionally to establish yearly, quarterly, and monthly forecasting budgets and metrics
• Drives continuous improvement of Commercial systems and processes (sales and distribution), Key Account infrastructure, forecasting, and financial information process, and competitor intelligence collection and analysis
• Supports GM in hiring and training, team building, coaching, and staff development to build and maintain efficient operations
• Develops and manages relationships with external contacts (i.e., Distributor leadership)
• Develops and manages the PXG Japan team to analyze workflow efficiencies and key performance indicators and trends to maximize efficiency and profits
• Liaises and coordinates among various support functions including Operations, Marketing, Accounting, IT, and HR
• Assists with other strategic and tactical team operational programs ranging from building a high-performance culture to creating and maintaining safety procedures
• Is a role model for building strong communications with PXG-US teams and ensures collaboration by providing regular progress updates

• Strong business acumen, excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Proficient in MS Office: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and CRM/sales database experience helpful
• Travel 20-30% of the time (throughout locations in Japan) and to US headquarters when necessary

Experience and Education:

• Previous experience in assisting a GM; start-up experience preferred along with working for an international company
• 15+ years general management and leadership experience, along with proven sales expertise; E-commerce and retail management experience highly desirable
• Extensive experience in developing and managing sales through third parties (i.e., Distributors)
• Specific golf industry experience along with a detailed understanding of Japanese golf markets and consumer trends; experience in luxury apparel industry highly desirable
• Education equivalent to a US-advanced Business/General Management or related studies degree
• Bilingual in English and Japanese

Our Position Location:

• Until COVID restrictions are lifted, the position will be Work-from-Home
• Upon re-opening, the position will be located in our Tokyo office and adherence to ongoing COVID-19 workplace practices may be required.
