Alpine Golf Club
Ron Garl created the layout for Alpine Golf Club, which is located just fifteen minutes from the Bangkok International Airport. The aim was to attract top competitions, and the club has hosted the 1998 Asian Games and the Johnnie Walker Classic, once the top venue in Asia, twice; Tiger Woods took the prize in 2000, as did Miguel Angel Jimenez in 2004. The outstanding feature of the course is water, which is in play on nearly every hole. Fairways are extensive and contoured; greens are super quick and slanting. The signature par 3 12th hole features one of the big beach-style bunkers and a sculpted green, and the preceding 11th is no less thrilling, playing to a green protected by water on three sides and a bunker on the fourth. A roomy clubhouse awaits with top-notch service and amenities, such as a jacuzzi and sauna in the locker rooms.
